Sunil Lahri, best known for his role as Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, opposed Adipurush. The actor watched the film and expressed his disapproval in a video on Instagram.
He raised various issues, such as why Raavan would ride a bat instead of a Pushpak Vimaan and why Meghnad and Lakshman would fight underwater.
He has referred to the film’s dialogues as ‘bekaar’ (poor) and has stated that the directors should feel bad for providing this to the viewers and hurting their feelings.
Sunil Lahri reviews Adipurush:
Sunil Lahri says in Hindi in the video posted on Monday, “I had high expectations from Adipurush that I would get to see something different, but it is very disappointing.”
You can’t mess with your culture in the guise of trying something different, especially when it comes to our own. The characters are undefined.
The scenes have no emotional impact on the audience. The dialogues are also quite bekaar (bad).”
On a YouTube account, a longer version of the film showed him saying, “We know what our culture is. You have manipulated the emotions of the general people, the residents of our country. You should feel bad about it.”
Here’s the link to the video he shared.
According to an Etimes report, Sunil stated, “Ravan was the king of the most beautiful country.” I’m not sure why they showed him beating iron.
He was Trilok’s King. Why was it necessary to include a dummy Sita in the film? Things would have been different if they had told the narrative simply. “All of the characters appeared perplexed to me.”
Sunil doubts Om Raut’s perception:
“I thought Om Raut is a sensible director,” he told the portal, slamming the Adipurush director. He had everything available.”
He further stated that when Ramayan was re-aired during the lockdown, the audience connected with it and embraced the look, language, and everything else. “It appears that the director is very confused,” he added. I’m not sure why he made the picture.”
Adipurush leads on Box office:
Adipurush has grossed an incredible 340 crore worldwide. Prabhas plays Raghava, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, Sunny Singh plays Lakshman, Lankesh is by Saif Ali Khan, and Devdutt Nage plays Bajrang.
