To understand the reason behind the actor’s
depression and eventual suicide, police have recorded statements of 10 people
so far.
In the investigation of actor Sushant
Singh Rajput’s suicide
in his Bandra home on June 14, police questioned Siddharth
Pithani, the late
actor’s creative manager to seek the reason for the promising actor’s
depression. Pithani, however, revealed to the Mumbai Police that Sushant had stopped taking the medicines
to treat depression in the weeks leading to his demise, as he was feeling
better. Pithani was hired by the late actor in 2018 for a project and Mumbai
Police official said that Pithani knew about Sushant Singh Rajput’s consuming
medication to treat depression. The official stated, ”Pithani told us that he
was not aware of the reason why Rajput was depressed. As he had been staying at
Rajput’s home, he had, however, overheard the actor’s staff saying that he had
stopped taking the medicines in the past few weeks as he was feeling better.”
Police record Mukesh Chhabra’s
statement:
Mukesh Chhabra, Bollywood’s top casting director, was also subject to police investigation and had his statement recorded on Wednesday. Chhabra in a statement has described Rajput as an intelligent and talented actor and he had cast him in his upcoming directorial debut. Chhabra knew Rajput well and also said that Sushant was an introvert, had an interest in quantum physics, loved to read books, studied the stars and played video games on his PlayStation console. The police official said,” Chhabra told us that Rajput was not phone-friendly and that wouldn’t always answer phone calls.”
