Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah artist Dilip Joshi has slammed the promotion of bad language on OTT platforms. Admitting that some of the work performed on streaming is ‘mind-blowing,’ he stated that in an Indian setting, the use of bad language feels ‘unnatural.’

Dilip Joshi in Sorabh Pant’s Podcast:

“In an episode on comedian Sorabh Pant’s YouTube podcast, he stated,” We do see some mind-blowing work on OTT platforms. There are some outstanding performances here. But I think that when they are not necessary, there are a lot of expletives used.

Applauding the films of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Raj Kapoor, and Shyam Benegal, Dilip said he especially liked Bandish Bandits, the recent Amazon Prime Video series.

If you want to show fact, he continued, “they also show the people going to the bathroom and taking a bath.” It matters what you serve the crowd.

What you see stays with you, too. Would you like to build a world where people only use offensive language to talk? For anything, there is a boundary. If it’s within the cap, it’s fun. When it goes over the cap, it begins to bother you.

He added, “I can understand that you’ll have to adapt and grow over time.” Lekin kya gaali Dena aage badhna hai (Does it mean improvement using bad language)? You want to do it here, whatever happens in the West. The West looks at the East’s culture. The oldest one is our history and rituals.

Dilip Joshi on following the West blindly:

In our world, we have so many wonderful things, and without understanding that, you have to follow the West blindly. They use the F-word a lot in their culture, so it doesn’t really seem unusual in their shows and materials. Here, it’s not that. Do you chat about that with your parents?

Dilip Joshi on Taarak Mehta ka ulta chasma:

Dilip also admitted on the podcast that often, with the stresses of producing a regular show, the standard of Taarak Mehta … This isn’t up to the mark.

“He said,” When you concentrate on quantity, there is somewhere where the consistency suffers. It was a weekly show initially, and the authors had a lot of time.

They had a break of a month with four episodes being shot every month to compose the next four episodes.
