Calling PM Narendra Modi “big brother,” Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said if Telangana is to grow, it has to observe the Gujarat model.
During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Telangana ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed his commitment to the state’s development and requested support from the central government.
Reddy emphasized that Telangana aims to contribute to the ambitious goal of achieving a USD5 trillion economy, underscoring the state’s readiness to collaborate with the Centre in driving national progress.
Hyderabad and Telangana as Development Partners
Reddy reiterated Hyderabad and Telangana’s willingness to collaborate with the Centre on various development initiatives, particularly highlighting the need for funds for the metro rail project.
He emphasized that Telangana requires support from PM Modi to achieve developmental milestones comparable to Gujarat’s progress.

PM Modi’s Contribution to Telangana’s Development
During the visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for over 30 development projects valued at more than ₹56,000 crore in Adilabad.
He emphasized the Centre’s commitment to realizing Telangana’s development aspirations and highlighted the cooperation extended by the central government in fulfilling the state’s development dreams.
Key Projects and Power Generation
Among the projects inaugurated by PM Modi was NTPC’s 800 MW (Unit-2) Telangana Super Thermal Power Project in Peddapalli, based on ultra-supercritical technology.
This project, with the highest power generation efficiency of approximately 42 per cent among all NTPC power stations in the country, will significantly contribute to Telangana’s power supply needs.
India’s Economic Growth Trajectory
PM Modi emphasized India’s remarkable economic growth, highlighting the country’s emergence as a major economy with a growth rate of 8.4 per cent in the previous quarter.
He expressed confidence that with this momentum, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, reflecting the nation’s unprecedented economic potential and global significance.
