The box office for Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan, fell by 45% on Monday
Vikram Vedha box office: Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s action thriller collected 5.5 crores on Monday. A drop of nearly 45% from the previous day.
Vikram Vedha saw a 45 percent drop on its first Monday after performing well at the box office over the weekend. The film earned around 5.5 crores on Monday, bringing its four-day total to 43 crores. Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan star in the lead roles in Vikram Vedha.
Pushkar-neo-noir Gayathri’s action thriller is a Hindi remake of the filmmaker duo’s hit 2017 Tamil film of the same name. Radhika Apte, Yogita Bihani, Sharib Hashmi, and Rohit Saraf also play important roles.
According to Boxofficeindia.com, early estimates indicated that Vikram Vedha earned around 5.5 crore net on Monday, representing a drop of about 45 percent.
Vikram Vedha was release in theatres alongside Mani Ratnam’s epic period drama Ponniyin Selvan I.
It is expect to improve during the upcoming Dussehra holiday and has a free run until Diwali.
R Madhavan played the cop in the original film (Saif in the remake). Also Vijay Sethupathi played a gangster (played by Hrithik in the remake). It is based on the Indian folktale Vikram-Betaal also follows Vikram (Saif), a tough police officer who setting out to track down and arrest the tenacious gangster Vedha.
“I love doing an ensemble,” Hrithik said of appearing in a two-hero film after War. The more, the better. It pushes you to do good because you see excellent acting. As I did in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, War, also now with Saif. Every time I’ve done a two-hero or ensemble film, it’s been much more fun.”
