Redevelopment of 110 railway stations:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate nine world-class railway stations in Bhopal today. The station is named after Rani Kamalapati (formerly Habibganj). It has been developed on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Equipped with luxury amenities, the airport in front of this station will also look dull. This is the first railway station in the country to be built on the PPP model. World-class railway stations will be set up at Nagpur, Gwalior, Amritsar and Ahmedabad on this model. Under this, Gandhinagar, Surat and Ahmedabad stations of Gujarat will also be transformed.

The government has prepared a plan for the redevelopment of 110 railway stations in the country. 60 stations will be constructed by the Railway Station Development Corporation of India (IRSDC) and 50 by Railway Land Redevelopment Authority (RLDA). According to the formulated participant policy 2012 of the Ministry of Railways, 13 projects will be prepared on the PPP model. It will cost Rs 6,176 crore. At the same time, 11 projects will cost Rs 22098 crore. Call and port connectivity will also be available here. Thirteen thousand four hundred twenty-one will be spent on 7 other projects.

Rani Kamalapati Station has been designed as an environmentally friendly building. It can seat 1100 people at a time. There is an air conditioning waiting room at the station. CCTV cameras are also installed. There are hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, food courts and many more.

Gandhinagar is first of 125 railway stations that got redeveloped

A railway station has been built in the capital of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, like an airport. It also has a 318-room five-star hotel. It is the 1st railway station in the country to have a separate prayer room and baby feeding room. Apart from the facilities including entry gate, booking, lift-escalator, bookstall, food and drink stall, a small hospital for first aid is also being constructed here. The entire station will be under CCTV direction.

The railway station in New Delhi, the country’s capital, will also be developed as a world-class station. The project is estimated to require Rs 8,500 crore. The entrances and exits to this station will also be different. At the same time, an elevated concourse will be developed. In addition, the 16 platforms already here will be redeveloped.

Delhi’s Anand Vihar station will be redeveloped by IRSDC. Earlier it was stated that the engineering, procurement and construction modes at the station would be upgraded. It will be more open compared to other stations. The way passengers come and go here will also be different from being easily moved without any difficulty.

Gwalior railway station will be redeveloped. Station redevelopment is likely to cost Rs 240 crore. The station will be redeveloped in an stretch of ​​2,30,425 square meters. Under this project, new blocks of inside and exit will be prepared to highlight the heritage building.

Gujarat’s Surat railway station will be transformed into a state-of-the-art multi-modal transport hub. This will be a modern station building. It will feature a wide station lobby, bus terminal, large ticket hall, modular passenger-friendly corners, new platforms, and a boarding area connecting the bridges, airport-style food plaza and retail area.

The redevelopment work at Amritsar railway station will be done through a public-private partnership model. It will be converted into a world-class railway station at the cost of Rs 300 crore. Crowds at the station can be easily managed once upgraded. There will be seating for passengers. There will be a complete arrangement of lighting for the departing passengers.

Bijwasan railway station in Delhi will be redeveloped by IRSDC using EPC mode. The redevelopment of this station will cost Rs 270.82 crore. While in the next three years, it will be fully developed. The redevelopment station will have separate areas for inbound and outbound passengers. There will be an entry and going gate just like any other airport. The station will have many amenities like a shop, food stall, modern waiting area, just like the airport.

The station will be redeveloped with the theme of Dandi March, led by Mahatma Gandhi. The existing Sabarmati Station-Meter Gauge and Sabarmati Junction Station-Broad Gauge will be reconnected to facilitate the movement of passengers at the station. The country’s first Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is likely to pass between the two stations.
