Three people arrested by Karnataka Police for growing Cannabis
Three people were arrested in Karnataka for reportedly growing Cannabis at home and distributing it to Shivamogga students.
The police have confiscated ganja, ganja seeds, and Charas from the suspects, and a case has been filed at the Shivamogga rural police station.
The accused growing Cannabis got arrested:
The accused include Vighnaraj, Pandidorai, and Vinod Kumar, who are suspected of peddling ganja and other drugs to students.
Shivamogga SP Mithun Kumar told ANI, “Vighnaraj is a student of a private medical college in Shivamogga and was growing Cannabis (ganja) at his house using hi-tech farming techniques.”
The other two accused assisted him in supplying Cannabis to college students in town. We seized 227 grammes of ganja, 1.53 kg of raw ganja, 10 grammes of Charas, and a small bottle containing ganja seeds from the accused.”
The Mangaluru case of January:
In January of this year, Mangaluru municipal police detained ten people, including medical students, on suspicion of smoking and trafficking cannabis and seized 2 kg of the narcotic material.
According to the source, the Mangaluru Police Commissioner stated that students from the medical and dental colleges are involved in drug trafficking in the coastal city. The arrested were staying in Mangaluru PG lodgings, homes, and hostels.
