Tom Holland has climbed to third place on the list of the world’s highest-grossing actors, trailing only Zoë Saldaña and Scarlett Johansson. At just 30 years old, he is the youngest performer ever to reach this position, a milestone driven largely by his long-running role as Spider-Man and a particularly strong 2026 that included two major hits.

Brand New Day Powers the Surge

The primary driver behind Holland’s rise is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has now earned $2.33 billion worldwide. That figure pushes the film past Avatar: The Way of Water, placing it third on the all-time global chart behind only Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. In North America, the film has topped the box office for five straight weekends and pulled in $891 million domestically, putting it within striking distance of Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ record and fueling speculation it could become the first film to cross $1 billion in the region.

Strong Performance in India

The film has also performed exceptionally well in India, grossing Rs 588.12 crore, with Rs 492.06 crore in net collections. That makes it only the third Hollywood release, after Titanic and Avengers: Endgame, to draw more than two crore admissions in the country, underscoring the franchise’s deep popularity there.

With roughly $460 million separating Brand New Day from Endgame‘s total and about $590 million from Avatar‘s record, closing the gap would require unusually strong staying power in theaters. Industry watchers note the film’s steady earnings and light competition could keep it running for several more weeks. Even without breaking additional records, Holland’s 2026 performance has cemented his status as one of his generation’s defining box-office stars.
