Amid renewed speculation about a possible relationship between actors Vijay and Trisha Krishnan following their joint appearance at a Chennai wedding reception, an old interview of Trisha has gone viral. In the resurfaced 2016 clip, the actress candidly spoke about her deeply considered views on marriage and divorce.

Speaking to journalist Sreedhar Pillai, Trisha emphasized that marriage is not a decision she takes lightly. “I don’t believe in divorce. I will think 100 times before marriage. I don’t want to end up hurting someone else or living an unhappy life,” she said. She also revealed that witnessing unhappy marriages around her had shaped her outlook significantly, adding that she wants to find love first, with marriage being secondary.

Why Trisha Called Off Her 2015 Engagement

Trisha had gotten engaged to Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian in 2015, but the engagement was called off within five months. In a later interview, she explained that her fiancé had asked her to quit acting — a condition she firmly refused. She stated that she would only take a break from films if she were pregnant, and expressed her wish to act until her last breath.

Trisha’s Strong Response to Parthiban’s Remark

The actress also recently made headlines after calling out actor Parthiban for a comment he made at the Galatta Awards, where he suggested Trisha should be “kept at home.” She took to X, calling the remark stupid and disrespectful. Parthiban subsequently issued a public apology, claiming the comment was unintentional during a rapid-fire segment.
