UAE couple arrested for stealing a luxurious car worth Dh50,000

The woman took the vehicle key and said she would check the luxurious car, but court records show she didn’t give it back.

An Arab pair in Ras Al Khaimah was charged with robbing a Mercedes Benz car worth Dh50,000 from a local.

Arab couple steals a luxurious car: 

The woman was believed to be the main defendant in the case as she acted to be a car buyer. She was convicted to six months in jail.

Court documents show that the victim put his vehicle up for sale on social media, and the lady reached out to him, expressing interest in purchasing the car. He decided to sell the car at Dh50,000.

The woman then informed him that she would send him a document of her Emirates ID and the location where he should deliver the vehicle after the payment.

The guy told the court that he had to drive the vehicle from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah —where the duo reportedly lived —after the woman said she had given the money via a banking application. 

She added that the funds would take approximately three hours to reflect in his bank statement.

Meanwhile, the woman took the vehicle key that was on the table and went out of the coffee shop, saying she would like to see the car, leaving her husband with the dealer.

The plaintiff said that after a while, her husband also asked him for a reason to go to the washroom, but he didn’t come back. And when the complainant went out to look for the two, he couldn’t find them and his vehicle.

The man said he tried phoning the couple nearly 20 times, but they had switched off the phones.

This was when he learned they had robbed his car and lied about transferring the money to him because nothing appeared in his bank statement.
