According to figures released by the international data forum for the travel industry OAG, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad and Emirates were rated 19th and 20th, with on-time performance (OTP) of 81.14% and 81.13 per cent.

On-time performance is depicted as flights that come or leave within 15 minutes of their planned times.
Etihad and Emirates had the least plane revocations rates of 0.55 per cent and 0.02 per cent last year. They were the best two Gulf airlines that made it to the top 20 list of 2022.
The local airlines have restarted operations to most destinations they were serving before the outbreak in the last two years.
Dubai’s flagship carrier now runs to almost 130 destinations across six mainlands, while Abu Dhabi-based national air service flies to 64 cities.
Emirates’ rank increased in recent years:
Emirates has witnessed its ranking increase from fifth in 2019 to third in 2022 in the area and from 34th to 20th worldwide.
Globally, Garuda Indonesia, South Africa’s Safair, German low-cost transportation Eurowings, Thai AirAsia and South Korea’s Jeju Airlines were the highest five most punctual air services last year.
Etihad and Emirates were rated second and third for on-time routine in the Middle East and Africa region in 2022 after Safair. Other airlines that got it to the final 10 are Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Flynas, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Oman Air and Royal Jordanian.
