UK Deputy PM Dominic Raab resigns; read why

Following an investigation into allegations of bullying, Dominic Raab resigned as Justice Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister.

The five-month investigation, led by a popular lawyer, was ordered by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in response to claims about Mr Raab’s performance as a minister.

In a letter to Mr Sunak, Dominic Raab stated that if the inquiry “found any evidence of bullying whatsoever,” he would retire.

He stated that the investigation “dismissed all but two of the claims levelled against me.”

Mr Raab claimed that two rulings against him were “flawed” and also “set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government.”

The government has yet to release the report on the inquiry by senior barrister Adam Tolley KC.
