Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for more humanitarian help, including medical supplies and medications, according to the letter sent by Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova to MoS Meenakshi Lekhi during her first three-day trip to India.

The Ukraine minister asked Meenakshi Lekhi and discussed bilateral and global matters of mutual interest.

Notably, this was the Ukrainian minister’s first official trip to India since the start of the war with Russia last year. Zelensky spoke with PM Modi last December and thanked him for humanitarian aid.

During the call, the two leaders discussed their views on the ongoing Ukraine battle. PM Modi even firmly reiterated his call for an immediate end of hostilities and suggested that both sides should revert to prudence.

PM Modi telephonically talked with the Ukraine President and his Russian partner Vladimir Putin to solve the war.

The Prime Minister had also told Putin that now is not a time for battle, with food, fertilizer, and fuel safety among the significant concerns of the world at present.

“I know that today’s period is not an era of battle, and I have spoken to you on the phone regarding this,” Modi told Putin on the sidelines of a provincial security bloc conference in Uzbekistan.
