Yogi Adityanath said that as a Hindu he won’t go for
a ceremony for the construction of a mosque, under his right to religion.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath created
a stir, hours after the Bhoomi pujan for the Ram temple on Wednesday when he was
asked if he would attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a
mosque in Ayodhya. UP CM in return questioned back the reporter and
asked whether he would even be invited for it in the first place.
CM Yogi says as a Hindu he has
the right to not attend a mosque function:
CM Yogi, in separate interviews given to three different television channels, said,” Do you think I will be invited for a groundbreaking ceremony for the mosque? I don’t think it is a problem for me as much as it is for them. Therefore, I don’t have any dilemma about it.” Later, Yogi Adityanath clarified that he did not distinguish between religions, castes, and communities as a chief minister, but as a yogi, as a Hindu, he would not attend such an event under his right to religion.
CM Yogi Adityanath praises
Iqbal Ansari:
CM Yogi lauded Iqbal Ansari,
one of the main litigants from the Muslim side in the Ayodhya land dispute
case, for having accepted the Supreme Court’s decision. Yogi stated,” People
should take inspiration from Iqbal Ansari. He fought the case with all his
might but also accepted the court’s decision. It is a reflection on our
democratic system that as a Muslim, he felt safe in Ayodhya while fighting his
case. Would a Hindu feel safe in Afghanistan or Pakistan if he was fighting for
a temple?” Yogi also said that the temple movement had unmasked
“pseudo-secularism”, which is a basis for riots, terrorism, and Naxalism in the
country.
CM Yogi also blamed the past
Congress governments who divided the Hindu and Muslims on the issue of Ram
Mandir for so many years.
