Uttarakhand rain: A dangerous situation occurred in Uttarakhand as the state is experiencing heavy to very heavy rain.
In the middle of nonstop rain on Monday, the Dehradun Defence College building in Maldevta, Uttarakhand, collapsed.
In six state districts, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert and forecast severe rain and lightning for the ensuing twenty-four hours on Sunday.
Uttarakhand rain cause building collision:
The Dehradun Defence College is located in the Garhwal Himalayan foothills. In addition to the Indian Institute of Technology and technical courses, the institute claims on its website that it also prepares students for the National Defence Academy and defence services examinations.
In a statement, the weather department said that very heavy to extremely heavy rain, storms with lightning, and very severe to extremely intense spells were very likely to occur in the upcoming 24 hours in isolated locations in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar.
Blockage on Badrinath National Highway:
In the meantime, a landslide-caused blockage on the Badrinath National Highway in the Pipalkoti area of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district has been caused by debris. The debris has also buried several vehicles.
Himanshu Khurana, the Chamoli district magistrate, was quoted by the news agency ANI as saying: “Many vehicles were buried under the debris, and the roads have been closed due to heavy debris falling from the mountain in Pipalkoti.”
The district magistrate also stated that vehicles are already buried beneath the debris and that there may be one person in Pipalkoti who is also believed to be buried there.
52 deaths have been reported due to Monsoon:
Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, the speaker of the Uttarakhand assembly, assessed the disaster-affected areas in the state on Sunday in Kotdwar.
In this monsoon session, 52 individuals died due to rain-related occurrences, while another 37 people were injured, according to government estimates. Uttarakhand has seen flash floods and landslides as a result of heavy rain.
Personnel from the SDRF and NDRF were sent to areas where rain-related occurrences had severely impacted the chief minister’s orders.
