Virologist escaped from Hong Kong to the US alleges China of coronavirus cover-up.
In an interview with Fox News, scientist Li-Meng Yan accused China of covering up Coronavirus from the world before its outbreak.
A scientist from Hong Kong, Li-Meng Yan, has accused China of covering up the Coronavirus and revealed that China knew about the deadly virus way before it claimed it did. At a time when over 12.5 million people are infected due to the novel COVID-19 pandemic, Yan’s extraordinary claim about cover-ups at the highest levels of government in China has sent shockwaves across the globe.
Supervisors ignored Yan’s research:
Li-Meng Yan, in an exclusive interview with Fox News on Friday, said that China had an obligation to tell the world, given their status as a World Health Organization (WHO) reference laboratory which specializes in pandemics and influenza viruses, especially as the fatal virus began spreading in its early days. Yan who has specialized in virology and immunology at the Hong Kong School of Public Health added that some of the renowned top experts in the field and also her supervisors ignored research she was doing at the onset of the pandemic that Yan claims could have saved lives. Yan said that last year, at her university she was told to look into the odd cluster of SARS-like cases by Dr Leo Poon at the end of December 2019 and said she was one of the first scientists to study the COVID-19 virus.
“In China, I will be disappeared and killed,” says Li-Meng Yan:
Yan revealed that after discussing the virus with her colleagues across China, she noticed that many of them, doctors, and researchers went silent before the outbreak of it. Some of her colleague doctors said, “We cannot talk about it, but we need to wear masks,” and this made her leave the research unit in Hong Kong and fly to the United States on April 28. Yan stated,” The Chinese government refused to let overseas experts, including ones in Hong Kong to do research in China.” Yan also revealed that her life is still in danger and that if she had said these revelations in China, then she would’ve been disappeared and killed.
