Wajid Khan the
music-director and singer, on Sunday, passed away in Mumbai after complications
rose from a renal ailment and COVID-19.

42 years of age, Wajid Khan of the hit music
composer duoSajid-Wajid, on Sunday, passed away in Mumbai after
complications arose from a renal treatment and the novel Covid-19 virus. Wajid was cremated on Monday morning.
Long term kidney infection and
Coronavirus the cause of Wajid’s untimely death:
After developing an infection, Wajid Khan was admitted to Surana Hospital and Research Centre in Chembur. Wajid had an history of infection and composer-singer had also undergone a kidney transplant operation. Wajid’s treating doctor said that since the operation, he was immuno-compromised. The doctor also revealed that later a COVID-19 test was conducted and unfortunately, the result was positive.
The medical director of Surana
Hospital and Research Centre, Dr Prince Surana, confirmed that Wajid Khan had
succumbed to the complications arising from a renal ailment and COVID-19
infection.
Bollywood and music fraternity
mourns Wajid Khan’s sad demise:
Many Bollywood and music
fraternity celebrities have mourned Wajid’s sad demise on various social media
platforms. Actor Priyanka Chopra sent her condolences to the family and
tweeted, “The one thing I will always remember is Wajid bhai’s laugh.
Always smiling, gone too soon. Rest in peace my friend.”
Salim Merchant,
fellow music director also shared his thoughts and prayers and tweeted,
“Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid. It is a
huge loss to the fraternity. May Allah give strength to the family.” Vishal
Dadlani also
conveyed his shock and said, “Can’t believe Wajid and I will never speak
again.”
After debuting in Salman Khan’s ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ in 1998, the music
directors duo composed many album’s of Salman’s films including Hello Brother,
Chori Chori, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Partner, Wanted, Dabangg (1-3) and very
recently they composed for Salman Khan’s single, ‘Bhai Bhai’.
As a singer too, Wajid Khan
left a positive mark, singing for popular tracks like ‘Hud Hud
Dabangg’, ‘Jalwa” and
‘Chinta tat a Chita Chita’.
