Weather: As the freezing wave continued in Gujarat till Sunday, Ahmedabad received a minimum temperature of 13°C and an outflow of winds at 28 km/h.

Temperature Overview

  • Ahmedabad: The maximum temperature is expected to reach 22°C with a 27% humidity level.
  • Coldest Locations:
    • Naliya: Recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 8°C, which is 2.9°C below normal.
    • Rajkot: Experienced 9.8°C, 4.1°C below normal, and a cold wave warning has been issued for the region.
    • Deesa: Registered 10.4°C, 1°C below normal.

Cold Wave Warning

  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted cold wave conditions in Rajkot and parts of Saurashtra until Sunday, issuing a yellow alert for the region.

Air Quality Index (AQI)

  • The current AQI in Ahmedabad is 122, categorized as “Poor,” equivalent to inhaling air harmful enough to compare with smoking 2.4 cigarettes a day.

  • According to Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, Director of the Ahmedabad Meteorological Department:
    • Weather across Gujarat will remain dry for the next seven days.
    • Winds will predominantly blow from the northeast to east, with no significant changes expected in the state’s overall weather conditions.
