West Bengal governor alleges that Raj Bhavan is under surveillance.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, of West Bengal, has alleged that the Raj Bhavan has been put under the surveillance and taking a dig at the TMC, said that it undermines the sanctity of the institution.

On Sunday, the West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar alleged that the Raj Bhavan has been placed under surveillance by the current state government, and said the action has undermined the sanctity of the institution. Dhankhar has often crossed swords with the Trinamool Congress government (TMC) over a host of issues in the past year. Making the startling claim, Dhankhar also said that lawlessness is persisting in the state of Bengal.

Governor Dhankhar alleges the TMC of snooping the Raj Bhawan:

In a press conference, Dhankhar made the astonishing claim and said,” I would like to tell you all that the Raj Bhavan is under surveillance. It undermines the sanctity of the Raj Bhavan. I will do everything to protect its sanctity.” Continuing his digs at Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, Dhankhar said that he took offense in Banerjee skipping the traditional tea party at the Governor’s house, on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day, and said that he was startled and stunned by the CM’s decision.

Mamata Banerjee says she left because of a hectic schedule:

The Governor took to his micro-blogging site to highlight Mamata Banerjee’s failure of staying at the tea party. He posted four pictures from the occasion and wrote that the vacant seat meant for CM at the celebration of Independence Day at Raj Bhawan created an unwholesome situation, that was not co-inciding with the rich culture and ethos of West Bengal. In her defence, Mamata Banerjee said that she made a blink-and-miss visit at the Raj Bhawan, after coming from the Red Road event. She said she had a conversation with the Governor and greeted him on the occasion of Independence Day, reported PTI.
