Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor’s appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2010 sent ripples within the movie enterprise, in general, around Ranbir Kapoor’s remarks. He later took a dig at them while he stated that they need to be solid within the Mean Girls remake.
Deepika Padukone again to the display with Priyanka Chopra as her fellow visitor in 2014, whilst host Karan Johar requested them if she became over what had happened within the aftermath of her earlier look.
“Now you are over what befell closing time, what took place on that couch?” Karan asked, and Deepika interjected with amusing, “Are you over it?” Karan continued, “I’m over it. It was all true. Everything became looked after out. But did it take some time that allows you to kind all of it out? Have you gone beyond it, with Chintu JI (Rishi Kapoor), Neetu Ji (Neetu Kapoor), Ranbir?”
Deepika replied, “I do not think there was ever a problem there. I suppose people made it fair larger trouble. But, I do not think there was any difficulty, truly now not among Ranbir and me for sure. And even supposing there was, it never reached me.”
She persevered, “Which is why we can even do a movie like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and still have that kind of information and chemistry. So if there was even a slight little bit of awkwardness, I do not think that film might have become out like that.”
In the aftermath of the episode airing, Sonam admitted that it affected her dating with Ranbir. A year after the episode aired, Sonam told Filmfare in an interview, “Honestly, I’m so bored to death with this complete Koffee With Karan factor now that I don’t want to talk about it. But, yes, it has affected my relationship. Some people break out by announcing something. But, unfortunately, I didn’t, and I must bear the brunt of it.”
Ranbir, in the meantime, stated in a chat with AIB that he might alternatively avoid performing on the show altogether. During a promotional occasion for Besharam in 2013, he said, “Koffee With Karan, in reality, commenced a barrage of negativity in my lifestyles, as you should be understanding.”
