Xiaomi 12 Pro review is the company’s most recent and possibly most refined flagship attempt. Here is what we had to say about it.
Xiaomi 12 Pro review Getting the best Android phone in India, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series, used to come at a high price. The OnePlus One in 2014 was the phone that changed this, followed by the forgettable OnePlus Two in 2015 and the successful OnePlus 3 in 2016. However, many people don’t realize that Xiaomi tried something similar at the same time. The Mi 5 was supposed to be the ‘affordable’ flagship, with a starting price of Rs 24,999, designed to compete with the OnePlus 3. But unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out.
OnePlus also Xiaomi has come a long way by 2022. However, while OnePlus has established itself as a serious player in India’s ultra-premium segment, Xiaomi is even waiting for a big break in this space. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the company’s most recent and possibly most refined flagship attempt. Here’s my take on it.
Xiaomi 12 Pro specs: 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate | Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor | 50MP+50MP+50MP camera with 32MP front camera | 8GB or 12GB with 256GB storage | 4600 mAh battery | MIUI 13 with Android 12
Xiaomi 12 Pro costs Rs 62,999 for 8GB RAM and Rs 66,999 for 12GB RAM in India.
Design and display of the Xiaomi 12 Pro
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a more refined design than last year’s Mi 11 Ultra, which features a large camera island. The camera island is tucked away in one corner this time, but the primary 50MP wide-angle lens stands out prominently. In addition, the phone has a curved back and a curved display.
Xiaomi has chosen glass for the back, but it has a proprietary velvet matte finish. It has a one-of-a-kind finish that is smooth to the touch with a hint of shimmer. I have the black version, which is very stylish. Throughout my journey, it has mainly remained smudge-free.
Without a doubt, it is a ‘tall’ phone. This made the one-handed operation a little difficult for me at times. The Xiaomi 12 Pro has quad speakers, one at the top and one at the bottom of the phone, subsequent to the USB-C port. Remember that the phone has no IP rating for dust or water resistance.
