YouTuber Manish Kashyap Assaulted by Junior Doctors at PMCH, Hospitalised After Dispute
BJP leader and popular YouTuber Manish Kashyap found himself at the centre of controversy on Monday after he was allegedly assaulted by junior doctors at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). The incident reportedly began with a verbal altercation involving a female junior doctor and escalated into a full-blown confrontation, resulting in Kashyap being locked in a room and physically assaulted for several hours.
According to initial reports, Kashyap had visited PMCH in the afternoon to intervene on behalf of a patient. While inside the hospital, he allegedly got into a dispute with a female junior doctor. The situation worsened when Kashyap began recording videos on the hospital premises, purportedly to highlight what he claimed was negligence or mistreatment.
His actions reportedly angered the junior doctors on duty, who accused him of misbehaving with their female colleague. In response, the doctors allegedly confined him in a room for about three hours and physically assaulted him. Photographs posted by Kashyap later in the day showed him lying on a hospital bed, claiming that he was injured and undergoing treatment.
The incident quickly drew sharp reactions on social media, with Kashyap’s supporters alleging that he was unjustly attacked and held hostage. They condemned the actions of the junior doctors and demanded strict action against those involved.
On the other hand, the junior doctors defended their actions, asserting that Kashyap had misbehaved with a female colleague and disrupted the functioning of the hospital by filming videos without permission. Sources within PMCH stated that tensions flared when Kashyap’s behavior was perceived as aggressive and inappropriate, prompting the response from the doctors.
Adding to the confusion, an associate of Manish Kashyap later downplayed the incident, claiming that “nothing happened” and dismissing reports of any assault or conflict. This contradictory statement has further muddled the facts surrounding the incident.
Pirbahor Police Station in-charge, Abdul Haleem, confirmed that police were alerted to the situation and arrived at the hospital. However, no formal complaint has been filed by either party. “Both sides have claimed to have resolved the matter among themselves. No FIR or written complaint has been registered as of now,” Haleem said.
While the situation appears to have been defused for the time being, the incident has sparked debate about the conduct of public figures in medical facilities, the rights of healthcare workers, and the growing trend of confrontational content creation. Whether the matter remains closed or leads to further investigation remains to be seen.
