With a drop in covid cases worldwide, the world is limping back to normalcy. Fewer cured cases also imply that the virus’s restrictions have begun to relax slightly. As a result, everyone, from large tech companies to startups, is gradually phasing out the WFH system. Returning to normalcy is fine, but returning to the office does not sound like a good idea, but the bosses have a different opinion than us. Narayana Murthy, the co-founder of Infosys, now wants his employees to return to the office.

Employees worldwide have been directed to work from home for the past two years. Every time there was a slight decrease in Covid cases, a new variant appeared and messed everything up for everyone. However, now that the issues have been resolved, Infosys CEO Narayana Murthy believes that allowing employees to work from home is not good.

“I am not a hugest fan of working from home,” Murthy said, according to the Deccan Herald. “When people work from house, that institutional culture slowly deteriorates.” He stated that it is tough to “build a culture of hard work, imagination, excellence, intuition, meritocracy, discussion, and debate if people work from home.”

Murthy isn’t the first tech titan to speak out against working from home. Kunal Shah, the founder of the fintech company CRED, previously described working from home as “comfortable but damaging.” “The impact of WFH on youth is the same as the impact of home-schooled children.” There are no genuine bonds. There are no real social or networking skills. The illusion of comprehension and learning There is no osmosis. “It’s convenient, but it’s harmful in the long run,” he explained.

On social media, his post elicited a range of reactions. “That’s the kind of boss I want to avoid at all costs,” one user wrote. It’s a highly linear way of thinking. On the contrary, we collaborate in new ways and spend more time with family.
