Unidentified assailants shot dead a gangster and injured four others outside the district court in Nagaur, Rajasthan, on Monday as part of a suspected gang war, senior police officers said.

VK Singh, Additional DGP (Law and Order), identified the deceased as Sandeep Bishnoi. Aka Sethi (33), a Haryana’s Hisar district resident, also said he was involve in multiple crimes.

According to the officer, Sandeep was release on bail from Nagaur jail on September 12 in connection with a murder case in 2020 in which he was the suspect. Singh said the attack happened outside the court around 1:30 p.m. on Monday after Sandeep had appeared for a hearing. According to the ADGP, at least six assailants on motorcycles fired at Sandeep and the group he was walking with.

Sandeep was killed in the attack, but three of his associates were injured. According to ADGP Singh, reports indicate that Sandeep’s lawyer was also wound.

Singh said that 2 of the injure were in critical condition and had been refer to a Jodhpur hospital.

Rupinder Singh, Inspector General of Police, Ajmer Range, state that the deceased was involve in five criminal cases in Rajasthan, including two murders. He is also name as a co-accused in the murder of two police officers in Bhilwara in 2021. While gangster Raju Fauji was accuss of carrying out the killings, Sandeep was accuss of supplying the weapons.

According to the ADGP, Sethi committed the first murder on Hisar in 2009. “He was a graduate living in the Narnol area of Haryana. He was in the liquor business also own several liquor stores in Haryana and Rajasthan,” said the officer. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has chastised the state government over the state’s law also order situation.
