The strike of 400 residents and internal doctors, who have been on strike for the last 7 days at Rajkot PDU Medical College, has come to a happy end. 

Today, after the 8th day, the doctors called off the strike following an agreement reached with the government and all the doctors have returned to their duties. Has started treating patients again as per routine. However, 100 per cent of their demands have not been met. But the strike was called off with an explanation.

Doctors on duty on the 8th

day About 400 doctors at Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay Medical College at Rajkot Civil Hospital went on strike with their 4 demands. They stayed away from duty for 7 consecutive days to protest against the government. However, the doctors who went on strike against the government finally bowed down, and today, 8 days later, the strike was concluded with an explanation, and all of them have returned to their duties from today.

The government has accepted the talks to some extent:

Dr Ravi Kothari, President, Junior Doctors Association, President, Junior Doctors Association, PDU Medical College, said that the talks with the government had been accepted to some extent, and some are still pending. But the strike was called off with an explanation, and from today, all the doctors have returned to their duties.

Doctors were on strike for 7 days.

The demand made by bonded physicians

  • Resolution No. MCG / 1021/459 / J Dt. The bond period is calculated as 1: 2 as of 12-4-2021.
  • According to other medical officials, the salary is as per the seventh pay commission.
  • Since there are no first-year PG medical students and our academic work has been wasted due to cowardice, an appointment is given only in the educational institution.
  • SR plus bond scheme implemented through other states.

The demand made by resident doctors

  • We should also be paid according to the seventh pay commission according to other medical officers
  • Due to not having first-year resident doctors and being wasted in covid on our academic, we should be appointed in our educational institution.
  • Like other states, the Senior Residency Plus Bond scheme should also be implemented in Gujarat
  • If the above demands are not met, we will join the support of JDA and all Government Medical College graduates.
