Actor Abhishek Bachchan has revealed that his 14-year-old daughter, Aaradhya, took the family to an Ariana Grande concert during a summer trip abroad. Speaking to BBC Asian Network, he said he did not know a single song, yet he came away impressed by the singer’s voice and the enthusiasm of her young fans. A Playlist Shaped by Two Generations

Abhishek said Kishore Kumar remains a personal favourite, and he loves older Hindi film music by composers such as RD Burman, SD Burman, Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri. At home, however, the soundtrack is changing. With a teenager in the house, there is plenty of Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift, and Aaradhya is a self-confessed Swiftie. She also enjoys 1980s rock and is discovering Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Metallica, which Abhishek joked keeps him safe from having to listen only to newer artists.

Recalling the concert, he said “that woman could sing”. He praised the quality of Grande’s voice and was struck by the devotion young singers inspire among their fans. The experience showed how curiosity can turn an unfamiliar show into a memorable family outing.
