Actor Tobey Maguire took on an extraordinary role this past weekend, officiating the wedding of his former wife, jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer, to billionaire entrepreneur Geoffrey Ogunlesi. The ceremony took place on October 10 at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii, drawing a glittering guest list that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bezos, Courteney Cox, Rachel Zoe, and DiCaprio’s partner, Vittoria Ceretti. Bezos attended alongside his wife, Lauren Sanchez.
Meyer, 49, looked radiant in a strapless white gown, while Ogunlesi chose a classic black suit and bow tie. Meyer’s children with Maguire- Ruby Sweetheart and Otis Tobias were present, along with Meyer and Ogunlesi’s newborn daughter. The event highlighted the couple’s blended family. It underscored the enduring bond between Meyer and Maguire, who finalized their divorce just weeks earlier, on September 21, after nearly a decade of separation.
A Blended Family That Works
Despite their split, Maguire and Meyer have remained close friends and devoted co-parents. In a recent interview, Meyer described their dynamic as unusually harmonious: Maguire, Meyer, and Ogunlesi share holidays, birthdays, and family trips seamlessly. Her words reflected the spirit of the wedding itself, where Maguire’s role as officiant symbolized respect, unity, and mutual affection.
Meyer and Ogunlesi’s Journey
Meyer and Ogunlesi first connected in 2023, and they made their public debut as a couple at the Baby2Baby Gala later that year. Ogunlesi, founder and CEO of The Ogunlesi Group, manages artists such as Young Thug and Myles Frost. He is also the son of Nigerian billionaire lawyer and investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi. Meyer, meanwhile, continues to run her successful jewellery label and serves on the board of Baby2Baby, a nonprofit supporting children in poverty.
The couple announced their engagement in August 2024, with Meyer sharing her excitement on Instagram. Earlier this year, they welcomed their daughter, a milestone Meyer celebrated in a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute to Ogunlesi.
Maguire and Meyer’s Past
Maguire and Meyer met in 2003 while filming Seabiscuit. They married in Hawaii in 2007 and share two children. Their 2016 separation eventually led to Meyer filing for divorce in 2020, which was finalized last month.
