Rajinikanth Explains Why Jailer 2 Skipped Grand Audio Launch

Superstar Rajinikanth has explained why the makers of Jailer 2 decided against a grand audio launch for the highly anticipated sequel. The actor spoke about the decision at the Jailer 2 Super Show, a special pre-release event that premiered on Sun NXT on October 9. The film is set to release in theatres on October 15, just two days from now.

Why the Makers Chose a Different Route

Audio launches are usually among the most awaited moments in a Rajinikanth film’s promotions. Fans look forward to his trademark stories, candid remarks and indirect reactions to controversies. This time, however, the production house felt such events had become too routine. Rajinikanth added that long indoor stadium programmes tend to drag on, leaving audiences restless. Instead of a big stage show, the team chose to hold separate interviews with the cast and crew.

The music was also unveiled in a different manner. Rather than a traditional launch, the album composed by Anirudh Ravichander was presented to a limited audience through a concert. The film’s trailer, too, arrived without the large-scale event often associated with the actor’s releases.

Rajinikanth Misses Meeting His Fans

The actor admitted that the format meant he missed meeting his fans in person, and said he felt sad about it. He promised to make up for it in the future, an assurance likely to please followers who treat such events as a rare chance to see their idol up close.

Jailer 2 brings back the character of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. The star-studded cast includes Mohanlal, Vidya Balan and Jackie Shroff, among others. With the release only days away, anticipation among fans continues to build, even without the usual audio launch spectacle.
