Actor Prakash Raj controversial tweet; complaint registered

A case has been filed against actor Prakash Raj at a police station in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district for his controversial tweet against the Chandrayaan-3 mission on social media, according to news agency ANI.

According to police, the actor criticised India’s ambitious third moon mission, Chandrayaan-3, in his X post (formerly Twitter).

Complaint against Prakash Raj controversial tweet:

“Hindu organisation leaders filed a complaint against the actor in Bagalkote district’s Banahatti police station and demanded action,” they added.

Raj shared a cartoon of a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea on Sunday. With that he wrote, “First view just arrived from Chandrayaan. #VikramLander #justasking.”

Since then, Raj has faced criticism, with many claiming that the Chandrayaan-3 project is tied to national pride.

Actor’s response to the fan’s outrage:

Faced with social media outrage, Raj later stated on X that his statements were simply meant as a joke. “Hate sees only Hate…I was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times celebrating our Kerala Chaiwala–which Chaiwala did the Trolls see? If you don’t get a joke, the joke is on you.”GROW UP #justasking,” he wrote.

Update on the moon Mission:

The Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to land on the moon on August 23 at 18:04 pm. According to the report by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

From 17:27 IST on August 23, 2023, live action will be available on ISRO YouTube channel, Facebook, and public broadcaster DD National TV.

After the United States, Russia, and China, India will be the fourth country in the world to accomplish this. But it will be the only country to land on the lunar south pole.

The main objective behind the moon mission:

The main objectives of the Chandrayaan-3 mission are threefold: to demonstrate safe and soft landings on the lunar surface, roving on the moon, and conducting in-situ scientific investigations.

The development phase of Chandrayaan-3 began in January 2020, with the launch scheduled for 2021. However, the Covid-19 pandemic caused an unanticipated delay in the mission’s development.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission was launched at 2:35 pm on July 14, 2023, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota, using the GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle.
