Ahmedabad Accident: Motorist Crushed to Death by Speeding Bus

Ahmedabad Accident: In a tragic turn of events, a motorist lost his life in Ahmedabad after a collision with a Gujarat state transport bus. 

The incident occurred near Bhulabhai Park crossing on April 19, when an Amdavad Municipal Transport Services (AMTS) bus collided with the victim’s two-wheeler.

Sequence of the Ahmedabad Accident:

The victim, identified as 52-year-old Navin Patel, met with the accident and tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reports indicate that Patel was not wearing a helmet during the collision. 

The incident’s CCTV footage has circulated widely on social media. It depicts a motorist in a red shirt attempting to cross the road on his two-wheeler.

Eyewitnesses reported that Patel attempted to brake upon noticing the speeding bus approaching from his left. However, despite his efforts to slow down, the AMTS bus collided with his bike. The impact caused the bike to topple over, and the speeding bus tragically ran over the driver.

Response and Accountability: Actions Taken After the Incident:

Following the incident, swift action was taken. The driver of the bus was immediately suspended from service and subsequently arrested. 

Charges have been filed against him under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act, including sections 304A, 279, 337, 427, 177, 134B, and 184.

Additionally, the AMTS has fined the private bus operator, Arham, Rs 2 lakh. The bus involved in the mishap has been seized as part of the investigation.
