Ahmedabad Scorches at 43.1°C Amid Isolated Rainfall in Gujarat

Ahmedabad experienced one of its hottest days, recording the second-highest maximum temperature in Gujarat at a blistering 43.1 degrees Celsius.

Despite the intense heat, the city found relief with a drizzle in isolated areas, accompanied by lightning and a cool evening breeze.

IMD Weather Forecast for Ahmedabad and South Gujarat:

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a forecast indicating light rainfall and thunderstorms across South Gujarat on Sunday.

While isolated rainfall is expected in parts of central and eastern Gujarat—specifically Anand, Kheda, Mahisagar, the Panchmahals, and Dahod—as well as in southern Saurashtra districts like Gir-Somnath, Amreli, and Bhavnagar, the rest of the state is likely to remain dry. This weather pattern is expected to persist until Monday.

Upcoming Weather Conditions:

Rainfall is anticipated to decrease from June 11 to June 15. During this period, only the southernmost regions such as Navsari, Tapi, Valsad, the Dangs, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Junagadh, Gir-Somnath, and Amreli are likely to experience isolated showers. The majority of Gujarat will not see significant precipitation during this time.

Ahmedabad Among the Highest Temperatures:

Ahmedabad’s high temperatures highlight the ongoing heatwave affecting the region, even as occasional showers bring brief respite.

The IMD’s forecast suggests limited rainfall for most of Gujarat, with isolated showers expected only in specific areas in the coming days.
