In a significant ceremony held today, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, inaugurated the Naranarayan Shastri Institute of Technology (NSIT) at Jetalpur in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
In his address, Shah emphasized the transformative impact of the Swaminarayan Bhagwan’s teachings on education, particularly in Jetalpur village and Kalupur Gadi Sanstha.

Shah lauded the Swaminarayan sect for its dedication to fostering faith, individual growth, and religious consciousness.
He credited the sect’s temples for their pivotal role in Gujarat’s educational landscape, especially in providing educational opportunities to marginalized communities such as tribal, Dalit, and economically disadvantaged youth.
Naranarayan Shastri Institute of Technology to Focus on Forensic Science:
Highlighting the expansion of academic offerings, Shah announced the introduction of courses in forensic science at NSIT, including B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs in Forensic Science and Cyber Security.
He expressed confidence that Jetalpur would emerge as a forensic science education hub, serving students from Ahmedabad and across Gujarat.
Forensic Science: A Pillar of Justice Reform:
Shah underscored the significance of forensic science in the legal landscape, particularly in the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to reform the justice system.
He outlined the government’s commitment to enhancing forensic capabilities, including mandatory forensic evidence collection in crimes with severe penalties.
Vision for Education: Openness and Excellence:
Discussing broader educational reforms, Shah highlighted the Modi government’s initiatives, including introducing a new education policy to promote interdisciplinary studies and global competitiveness.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to positioning Forensic Science University as a premier technical institution on the global stage, with the full support of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
