Apple AirPods Pro 2 and new colors for AirPods Max will be available
The AirPods Pro 2 and new AirPods Max colors will be released in the coming months.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 may release a pair of premium AirPods Pro 2 later this year. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated this in his latest PowerOn newsletter. Gurman confirms rumors that the second-generation AirPods Pro is in the works and that the device will be released in 2022.
AirPods Pro was first released three years ago, so a refresh is inevitable. “The current model has been on the market since the fall of 2019. So the batteries are probably already in trouble for some early adopters,” Gurman explained in the newsletter.
Although little is known about the second-generation AirPods, rumors suggest. That the new model will feature a sleeker stemless design, a new charging case, and health-fitness capabilities. In addition, according to a recent story, the next-generation AirPods Pro may support lossless audio. Apple’s high-end earbuds received features like active noise cancellation and a customizable fit with the current-generation AirPods Pro.
AirPods first appeared in 2007 and the iPhone 7 in 2017.
Since then, the AirPods have become the market’s most popular truly wireless earbuds. The AirPods lineup consists of the AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.
Gurman also anticipates that Apple will release new AirPods Max colors in the coming months. Though an update to the over-ear headphones is unlikely, Gurman hopes to see a price reduction for the current model. The audio quality of the AirPods Max has been praise, but critics have slamme Apple for charging $549 for the over-ear headphones. Last year, Apple was rumor to release a $399 AirPods Max. But we haven’t heard anything concrete about the low-cost model.
