Asaduddin Owaisi took to his Twitter and said that
PM Modi will be violating a constitutional oath if he attends Bhoomi Pujan of
Ram Temple in Ayodhya; VHP calls for celebrations.
On Tuesday, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin
Owaisi called
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s possible attendance in the ‘Bhoomi pujan ceremony
of the Ram temple at Ayodhya as a violation of his
constitutional oath.
PM Modi in danger of violating
a constitutional oath:
In a tweet, Owaisi said that attending Bhoomi pujan in official capacity will be a violation of the Prime Minister’s constitutional oath and that secularism is part of the basic structure of the Constitution. In another tweet, the Hyderabad Lok Sabha member said that he & his party cannot forget the demolition of the 400-year old Babri Masjid by a criminal mob in 1992. As per the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, PM Modi will most likely attend the ground-breaking ceremony on August 5 at the Ayodhya Ram temple. Veteran BJP leaders including LK Advani, MM Joshi, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat have also been invited to the historic ceremony, which will be carried out amid all the social distancing norms.
VHP calls for a celebration:
Meanwhile, Vishwa Hindu
Parishad’s
International Joint General Secretary, Surendra Kumar Jain in a Facebook live
address said that Hindus should celebrate the Bhoomi Pujan as it is the result
of a 500-year old struggle. He highlighted the sacrifice of lakhs of people for
the Ram Temple construction and said that the whole country was determined to
construct a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Jain also appealed the people to chant Ram’s
name, whilst facing towards Ayodhya at 10.30 am on August 5 and offer aartis to
celebrate the historic Bhoomi pujan. He also asked the Muslim community in the
country to respect Hindus’ sentiments.
