Avengers: Endgame Encore Opens Big With ₹7.25 Crore in India

Marvel fans have flocked to cinemas as Avengers: Endgame returned to Indian theatres with its encore release. According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹7.25 crore net on its first day, comfortably surpassing the ₹2.5 crore earned by the re-release of Interstellar. The strong start shows the enduring pull of the superhero saga years after its original run.

Language-Wise Collections and Occupancy

The Avengers Endgame Encore box office numbers were driven largely by the English version, which brought in ₹5.25 crore. The Hindi version added ₹1.25 crore, while the Telugu and Tamil versions contributed ₹45 lakh and ₹30 lakh respectively. Overall occupancy stood at 41% across 3,634 shows. Morning shows recorded around 17% occupancy, which rose to nearly 23% in the afternoon and stayed at a similar level in the evening.

Trade watchers say the opening puts the film on track to become one of the highest-earning re-releases in India. Only Baahubali: The Epic currently stands ahead of it, leaving room for the Marvel title to climb further if word of mouth and weekend footfalls hold up.

Competition and Storyline

The re-release is competing with fresh theatrical offerings, including The Vvaan and The Paradise. Despite this, the Marvel blockbuster has held its own, suggesting audiences are keen to revisit the film on the big screen.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame follows the surviving Avengers as they unite to undo the devastation caused by Thanos. The film features a star-studded cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, whose performances remain central to the franchise’s emotional legacy.

The coming days will show whether the encore can sustain this momentum through the weekend and challenge the record set by Baahubali: The Epic.
