Bhupinder Singh, a veteran singer who contributed his melodic voice to many Bollywood songs and ghazals, died Monday at Mumbai’s Criticare hospital. He was 82.
Bhupinder had numerous hits, ranging from the classic “Dil Dhoondta Hai” from 1975’s Mausam to the best upbeat “Hothon Pe Aisi Baat” from Jewel Thief. In addition to playback singing, Bhupinder has been credit as a guitarist in several Hindi film numbers, including “Dum Maaro Dum” from Dev Anand’s Hare Rama Hare Krishna and “Chura Liya Hai” from Yaadon Ki Baaraat.
