The UP government is developing a defense passage to expand the defense equipment production capacity and reduce foreign dependence. Toll roads will provide a boost and allow for faster and easier transportation of goods through corridors.

Uttar Pradesh is now a crime-free state, where every known criminal is dealt with. Regarding the legal and regulatory situation in the state, additional chief (home) secretary Awanish Kumar Awasthi. Said on Monday that minor and significant criminals’ properties worth 1,900 million rupees had been confiscated.

“The crime rate has dropped dramatically in Uttar Pradesh. Now there is no danger in our state because this government has a zero-tolerance policy towards such elements,” Avasti said. Another senior official, who also works with the media, said Uttar Pradesh now has the country’s second-largest economy after Maharashtra.

“According to data from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Uttar Pradesh has more than 55 Lakh-Demat accounts. Which are used for trading on the exchange, the highest after Maharashtra and Gujarat. This is because it’s no longer a BIMARU country,” said Navneet Sehgal, additional boss, secretary (information and IT).

The acronym BIMARU (or Sick) was coined in the 1980s by renowned demographer Ashish Bose to refer to countries lagging and slowing India’s overall development. However, the terminology was later refer to as “obsolete” by many governments, reflecting developments in their respective countries.

“While Maharashtra has 1.56 million Demat accounts, Maharashtra Gujarat has 88 lakh.

Karnataka ranks fourth with 44 lakh Demat accounts, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 37 lakh trading accounts,” Navneet said. He add that this account does not focus on more developed areas like Noida or Ghaziabad (closer to Delhi) but is spread across the state.

In addition, Awasthi said the government of Uttar Pradesh had received 4.5 lakh crore investments from various industries. “We are also investing in the defense corridor. The government is looking for an investment of 10,000 kroner,” he added.

The briefing took place a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Purvanchal Expressway, a vital project of the Yogi Adityanath government. It started months before state elections.
