Pharmacy students gain practical insights into pharmaceutical manufacturing processes via this visit
On July 18, 2023, the esteemed C.U. Shah College of Pharmacy & Research (CCPR) organized an informative industrial visit for the B.Pharm. Sem-V students at Aksharam Pharma, located in Surendranagar. This visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the pharmaceutical industry’s operations and enhance their understanding of various manufacturing processes. The visit proved to be an enriching experience for the students, fostering their knowledge and professional development.
CCPR, managed by Vardhman Bharti Trust, has been committed to providing quality education and research opportunities in the field of pharmacy since its establishment in 2004. The institute is approved by the Government of Gujarat, AICTE, Pharmacy Council of India, and accredited by NAAC. Aksharam Pharma, a renowned name in contract manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, welcomed the students during the industrial visit. It’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and quality control labs have gained recognition from global industry forums for their adherence to regulatory guidelines and commitment to quality.
The industrial visit commenced at 11:00 am, led by the esteemed faculty members of CCPR, including Dr. AkrutiKhodakiya [Principal and Associate Professor], Dr. N N Dave [T&P Officer and Assistant Professor], Ms. Nilam Joshi [CC Sem 5 and Assistant Professor] and Ms. JahanviBhadeliya [Subject Expert and Assistant Professor], who divided the students into two groups for a comprehensive exploration of Aksharam Pharma. The first group visited the production area, where they observed the entire manufacturing process, from the loading of raw materials to the packaging of finished products.
Mr. Jay Moradiya, an alumnus of CCPR and a Production Executive at Aksharam Pharma, provided detailed explanations of the various instruments and machinery involved in the production line. Simultaneously, the second group explored the F&D (Formulation and Development), QC (Quality Control), QA (Quality Assurance), and Analytical laboratory sections. Mr. Manish Chauhan, another CCPR alumnus and QC Head at Aksharam Pharma, guided the students through the workings of the instruments and equipment used in these departments.
