EaseMyTrip signs GSA with SpiceJet Airlines, stocks up by 4%

Travel agency firm EaseMyTrip has signed a General Sales Agreement (GSA) with SpiceJet Airline. 

Under this deal, EaseMyTrip will be responsible for selling and advertising the products and services offered by SpiceJet in India, thus allowing customers to benefit from the services of SpiceJet.

Shares of EaseMyTrip bounced 4 per cent after the firm signed a General Sales Agreement (GSA) with SpiceJet Airline. At 12:46 pm, the stock sold at Rs 42.95 on the National Stock Exchange, up 4.25 per cent from the last close.

As per the exchange filing, under the GSA, EaseMyTrip will be liable for selling and advertising the products and services offered by SpiceJet in India, thus allowing customers to benefit from the services of SpiceJet.

Termed as a strategic intervention, the contract attempts both firms to expand their services in the Indian market. Nishant Pitti, CEO and Co-Founder of EaseMyTrip, said, “We are elated to be partnering with SpiceJet and anticipate gaining additional momentum to become a leader in the air ticketing industry within the next 18 to 24 months.”

With EaseMyTrip’s vast network in the travel industry, the firm will play an essential role in promoting SpiceJet’s sales. EaseMyTrip will vigorously leverage its distribution channels and use all required steps to improve the distribution and network of SpiceJet.

Easy Trip Planners’ stock was in direction earlier the previous month after the firm partnered with the World Padel League (WPL) 2023. Easy Trip Planners has joined hands with the World Padel League as the authorised travel partner.
