In a recent interview, filmmaker James Wan disclosed that the fourth movie in The Conjuring franchise with Ed and Lorraine Warren might be the last one.
Conjuring series’ fourth part in the works:
Fanatics of The Conjuring movies were excited when it was revealed last year that a fourth movie is in the creation. Johnson-McGoldrick, who earlier wrote the screenplay for both The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, would be back for the script of the fourth film as well.
Although superstars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are confirmed to be back as Ed and Lorraine Warren, the producers have disclosed little else about the film now in development.
Now filmmaker James Wan, who is now promoting his horror film M3GAN, threw some light upon what is in store for lovers of The Conjuring universe.
James Wan on the Conjuring franchise:
“Yeah, we are functioning on it right now. With the Conjuring movies, we are very cherished about [them].”
“And so we sort of want just to take our time to make foolproof we get it right and to make sure the feeling of the Warren tales that we want to convey, and moving into, and probably wrapping up, we only want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the correct story that we’re telling,” he expressed in an interview with Collider.
When also pressed if that means that the fourth movie would definitely mark the ending to the franchise that has earned over $2 billion at the international box office, James added, “We never know. You never know. We’ll see.”
