It was eventually projected by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) that it would arrive on June 25. Heavy rain lashed the city on Saturday, prompting an orange alert in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad.
According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon arrived in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra on Sunday.
While Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar have been lowered to yellow for Sunday and Monday, Raigad has been upgraded to orange.
