Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan arrested in Toshakhana case

Islamabad Police have come to ex-PM Imran Khan Zaman Park residence in Lahore to arrest him in the Toshakhana case, says Pakinstan’s media.

Geo News said an Islamabad police officer was saying they were in Lahore as Imran Khan failed to occur before a court in the Toshakhana case.

Islamabad police arrests Imran Khan from his home: 

The officer added that they had come to Zaman Park under the leadership of a director of police (SP). 

“The Lahore police are helping us,” said the police officer, quoted by Geo News.

Local press reported that PTI workers gathered at Imran Khan’s Zaman Park home after the arrival of police. Islamabad Police have tweeted that it got the ex-Pak PM’s residence to detain him as per the court’s orders.

The tweet in Urdu, summarised in English, reads, “According to the court rulings, a unit of Islamabad Police has reached Lahore to detain Imran Khan. All procedures are being conducted with the cooperation of the Lahore Police. The legal measure will be taken against those hampering the execution of court orders.”

According to Geo News, Additional sessions judge Zafar Iqbal had earlier given a non-bailable arrest warrant against PTI Chief Imran Khan on February 28. Geo News, citing sources, continued that Islamabad officers are in Lahore to detain the PTI chief. 

Khan will be charged after all the legal conditions are fulfilled, Geo News further added.
