On Tuesday, four terrorists killed by security personnel in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Sindhara region of Poonch. 

According to police, the joint operation started Monday night in the Sindhara top area of the Surankote belt, resulting in a battle.

The gunfight restarted around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, with four terrorists killed, according to Mukesh Singh, additional director general of police (ADGP), Jammu Zone.

According to army officials, the initial clash between security personnel occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, after which drones and other night monitoring equipment were deployed.

The fight restarted at dawn, with an intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists. The operation included the Indian Army’s Special Forces, Rashtriya Rifles, and J&K Police, among other forces. 

According to Indian Army officials, the terrorists killed in the operation are likely foreign terrorists whose identities are being verified.

Previous terror attacks in J&K this year:

It’s not the first terror attack of 2023 by Pak. During the previous month, on June 23, 2023, four terrorists were shot dead by the area police. 

The attack took place in the Machhal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the news of the attack through Tweets.
