Godrej Industries Group Expands Hiring Across Divisions

Godrej Industries Group is actively increasing its hiring efforts across various business divisions, including financial services (Godrej Capital), real estate (Godrej Properties), and agriculture (Godrej Agrovet). According to a report by the Economic Times, Sumit Mitra, Head of Group HR and Corporate Services, mentioned that the company is also implementing new policies aimed at talent retention.

Roles in Demand:

Most of the hiring will focus on new technology, digital advancements, and research and development (R&D) roles. These positions are critical as the company seeks to bolster its capabilities, ensuring it stays competitive in an increasingly digital and technology-driven market.

Declining Attrition Rate by Godrej Industries:

Godrej Industries has reported a notable decrease in its attrition rate. As of the financial year 2024-25 (up to July 31), the rate has dropped to 14%, down from 15% in 2023-24 and 18% in 2022-23. This decline reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to retain talent and create a stable workforce.

Local Hiring Initiatives:

To enhance sustainability, the company emphasizes hiring locally, particularly for its manufacturing and sales teams. This approach has been applied to various regions, including Tier 2 and 3 cities.

For instance, Godrej Industries is setting up a large FMCG factory in semi-rural Tamil Nadu, outside Chennai, and has been conducting recruitment drives there. Additionally, the company is expanding operations in Gwalior and establishing a new factory in Agri, near Nashik.

New Employee Incentive Policies by Godrej Industries:

Godrej Industries has introduced new employee incentive policies to support its workforce further. These include an elder care policy that allows employees to take up to two weeks of paid leave to care for elderly family members.

The company has also expanded its childcare policy to provide additional support for primary and secondary caregivers. These initiatives are part of the company’s broader strategy to create a more supportive and inclusive work environment.
