Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be release on October 6, but as the date approaches. The tech giant is finding it increasingly difficult to keep its new smartphones under wraps. Both devices have now appeared on Google’s Play Console, revealing some intriguing features that may be exclusive to Pixel devices. The new Pixel 7 smartphones will include the new Tensor G2 SoC and will be available in India for the first time.

Google’s Play Developer Console is essentially a platform for app developers to publish and track the performance of their apps.

The two phones were first spotted on the Play Console by Mishaal Rahman. Who revealed more information about the upcoming phones in a Reddit thread.

Both devices were running Android 13. According to the source, the two phones will include an eSIM MEP feature allowing one smartphone to connect to two eSIM providers simultaneously. According to the source, the feature was expected to appear with Android 13; Google’s new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be the first smartphones to feature the new eSIM technology.

Face unlock is another new feature reveal in the same thread that could be the highlight of this year’s Pixel smartphones. The Pixel 7 also Pixel 7 Pro now support Android’s biometric face unlock feature. Which was previously seen on Google’s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones (that never made it to India). According to the source, the Pixel 6 Pro was supposs to get the same feature using its front-facing camera and software. But Google cancelled the quality for reasons best known to Google.

With the front-facing camera appearing normal in previously leaked renders and videos. It will be interesting to see how Google implements a secure biometric face unlock using a standard selfie camera.
