Govind Namdev is not happy with CBFC review on OMG 2

Govind Namdev, who plays Pujari in Akshay Kumar’s OMG franchise, has chastised the Central Board of Film Certification for giving OMG 2 an ‘A’ or Adult certification.

In a Facebook post, the actor requested that the CBFC reconsider its decision to award a film intended for teenagers an A certificate.

Govind Namdev shares a post on Facebook:

Govind Namdev, who reprises his role as Pujari in OMG 2, turned to Facebook to express his frustration with the film’s inability to obtain a U/A certification from the CBFC.

“OMG, O MY GOD is finally released with 24 Censor cuts and senseless A certificate so that teenagers should not see the movie for whom the movie is made, And Censor has passed it!” he wrote.

Govind then linked OMG 2’s battle with the CBFC to Adipurush’s. Om Raut’s Ramayana adaptation was widely condemned for its colloquial and disparaging lines, which the makers later modified in response to the outrage.

Censor board must use their brain; says OMG Pujari:

“Jo dimaag censor board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film mein lagana chahiye tha wo unhone ‘Oh My God” jaisi thoughtful aur progressive film ko kaatne kootne mein kharch kar diya! Waah. (The CBFC should have used its brain when evaluating a poor movie like Adipurush. But instead, they focused all of their intellect into cutting an important and progressive picture like OMG 2),” Govind continued on Facebook.

He then urged that the CBFC rethink its decision because OMG 2, centred on the controversial issue of sex education, is a film intended for and aimed at teenagers.

“It will be a wise step if Censor corrects its error and grants at least UA certificate to allow a positive revolution to begin for the betterment of our society’s teenagers’ upbringing,” he wrote.
