Gujarat elections in 2022: The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will have six additional candidates after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced their slate on Saturday. The current list brings the total number of candidates the ruling party has named to 166.

On November 9, the BJP published its initial list, which included 160 candidates’ names. Sejal Rajiv Kumar Pandya, a candidate for the party, is running in the Bhavnagar East district. While Mahendrabhai Padaliya, a former vice chancellor of Saurashtra University, is running in the Dhoraji district.

Mulu Bera, Dheliben Odedra, Hitesh Devji Vasava, and Sandeep Desai are the candidates for the saffron party in the Khambhalia, Kutiyana, Dediapada (ST-reserved seat), also Choryasi, respectively.

The state will hold elections in two phases on December 1 and 5. And it is the home state of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. On December 8, the results of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will also be announce.

The Election Commission had announced that a total of 93 Assembly constituencies would cast ballots in the second phase. In addition to the 89 Assembly constituencies that will vote in the first phase.

The deadline for submitting nominations is November 14 for the first phase and November 17 for the second phase.
