Gujarat Govt Partners with IBM for AI Cluster in GIFT City

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM to establish an AI Cluster leveraging IBM’s Watson technology.

This initiative fosters innovation and collaboration among financial institutions in Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City.

Key Benefits for Financial Institutions:

Financial institutions in GIFT City will have access to an AI Sandbox for experimentation and development.

Support in providing proof of concept for AI initiatives. Educational programs to enhance AI understanding and capabilities. Implementation of AI-driven digital assistant solutions.

  • Software Technologies and Platforms: IBM will provide software and platforms over a cloud environment, enabling financial institutions to customize and fine-tune large language AI models.
  • Digital Assistant Solutions: Development of a digital assistant-based solution for onboarding and integrating customized AI models.
  • AI Curriculum Development: IBM will develop an AI curriculum for schools and universities in Gujarat, aligning with its commitment to skill 30 million people by 2030 and train 2 million learners in AI by the end of 2026.

Government of Gujarat’s Efforts for AI Cluster in GIFT City

“These MoUs are very detailed. We are also working to expedite the AI adoption in MSMEs. It is our effort to bring this futuristic technology to the people.”

The collaboration also includes literacy programs and certifications for professionals in the state, aiming to enhance their skill sets and prepare Gujarat’s talent for an AI-driven future economy.
