Gujarat start night curfews will be in effect from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday in eight Gujarat cities. Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, and Junagadh, according to news agency ANI.

The Gujarat start night curfews was recently reduce to run from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

This comes as the state reported seven more cases of Omicron coronavirus on Thursday. Bringing the total number of cases of the new strain in Gujarat to 30.

Meanwhile, the central government reported that India had identified 358 cases of the Omicron variant so far, with 114 patients surviving.

“Of the 358 cases of Omicron find in India so far, 183 were analyze. And 121 of them had a history of foreign travel,” the government said.

At a joint press conference on the pandemic, a senior official said that 91 percent of the 183 people were fully vaccinate. With three receiving booster shots, 70 percent were asymptomatic, and 61 percent were males.

After 78 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, the total number of recoveries increase to 8,18,129. Gujarat now has 668 active coronavirus cases, with 12 patients on ventilators.

So far, 8.78 crore doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administer to the state’s eligible population. With 2.13 lakh shots administered during the day.
