Gill’s century powers GT to final as Ferreira stuns Rashid

Gujarat Titans stormed into the IPL 2026 final with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, powered by a breathtaking 167-run opening stand between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. Gill led the charge with a dazzling 104 off 53 balls, whileSudharsan contributed a crisp 58 off 32 as the Titans chased down a 215-run target in just 18.4 overs. Gujarat will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final.

Rajasthan had set a competitive target thanks largely to fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who stroked a brilliant 96 off 47 balls, featuring eight fours and seven sixes. His innings took his season tally to 776 runs, placing him fifth on the all-time list for most runs in a single IPL edition. The platform he built allowed Donovan Ferreira to deliver an extraordinary finishing act, smashing an unbeaten 38 off just 11 balls in the final over to push Rajasthan’s total from competitive to daunting.

Ferreira’s assault came entirely at the expense of Rashid Khan, who conceded 27 runs in the final over alone — equalling the record for the most expensive over by a spinner in IPL playoff history. Rashid finished with figures of 0/45 in two overs at an economy of 22.5, the worst bowling performance of his entire 524-match T20 career. Despite the dramatic final-over fireworks from Rajasthan, Gill and Sudharsan’s composed opening partnership ensured there was no fightback from the Royals.
